There’s one holiday I’ve never truly enjoyed…Halloween. Halloween decor is hard to find around our home, but of course you’ll find plenty of pumpkins and fall decor. If you’d rather skip the Fright Fest (like me), but have found yourself hosting a ‘ghouls night in’ this year – don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be spooky. Use these ideas to have a fun and festive evening!
First up – grab some classic decor that gives a hint of Halloween or fall, but you are sure to use again. I had this marble serving board in my collection as well as some adorable owl Moscow Mule mugs that I had received as a gift (Pier 1, no longer available). I’m loving these ideas, too.
And then – the ‘boo’ze, of course! Try this twist on the classic Moscow Mule with Ruby Grapefruit vodka. It’s the perfect hue of orange for a Halloween cocktail.
Grapefruit Moscow Mule
2 oz Deep Eddy Ruby Red Vodka
.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice
Top with Ginger BeerCombine Deep Eddy Ruby Red Vodka and lime juice in a copper mug, add ice and top with ginger beer. Garnish with a grapefruit wheel.
And lastly – don’t forget something to snack on! These festive cheeses from Aldi are the perfect addition to your Halloween party. Create a charcuterie board from their seasonal cheese and a variety of meats. We chose prosciutto and salami from Aldi’s selection.
We loved the Pumpkin Spice cheese with the salami as they balanced each other quite well. The strawberry and Prosecco cheese is not one you’d eat every day, but I think it was my favorite!
We tried 4 of their Halloween-inspired cheeses:
- Scary Pumpkin Spice – Wensleydale cheese, shaped like a pumpkin & infused with cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg
- No Rest For The Wicked – Wensleydale cheese, shaped like a sugar skull & has sweet flavors of strawberry and Prosecco.
- Freaky Franken – mild Derby cheese, packaging like Frankenstein & infused with dried sage
- Bat Knit Crazy – aged cheddar cheese, packaged with a graphic of a bat in a sweater & the most traditional of the 4 flavors
Have fun with your entertaining and don’t over think it! I hope this gave you a few ideas for the upcoming Halloween festivities.
